“Keeping your emotions all locked up is something that’s unfair to you. When you clearly know how you feel. You should say it.”
There’s this shitty thing that happens when you learn about the reality of racism, sexism and misogyny. You start to hear it from the mouths of your parents, grandparents, friends and siblings and you can’t ignore it anymore but you’ll see how many of them will ignore you when you speak out about it.
i tried. many many times. then one day when we were all together, i decided to speak up once again. now my dad and grandma thinks that i have a strong opinion (we seriously began a serious discussion on homosexuals adopting children) and my grandpa possibly thinks that either a lesbian (i might have said that in those exact words) or a bisexual. (he was too drunk and i don’t even think he remembers anything).
